New York faces must-win in Little League World Series Metro Region: Schedule, TV channel, how to stream for free

South Shore claims state crown against Harrison, 8-5

New York will face an elimination game in the Little League World Series Metro Region on Wednesday.

South Shore of Staten Island will play Connecticut at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7 (8/7/2024) at A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Center in Bristol, Connecticut.

The winner of Wednesday’s game will face New Jersey in the Metro Region championship game on Friday. The champion advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Wednesday’s game will be on ESPN.

What: Little League World Series Metro Region tournament

Who: South Shore (Staten Island, New York), Wickford (North Kingstown, Rhode Island), Morristown (New Jersey) and East Lyme (Connecticut)

When: Saturday, Aug. 3, through Friday, Aug. 9

Where: A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Center, Bristol, Connecticut

New York opened the regional tournament with a 17-7 win over Rhode Island. However, the team lost to New Jersey 11-1 after falling behind 5-0 after three innings.

Connecticut lost its opener but bounced back for a 13-2 win to eliminate Rhode Island.
